I went with my Family on Valentine's day... Prompted by the Cape talk ads.
It was fantastic. The kids loved it. Large open lawns, shaded jungle gym and a "safe" water stream provided more than enough entertainment for the little ones.
And my wife and I could relax in the shade without loosing them from sight. The dam in the picture is fully fenced. So one can relax entirely with the kids running wild.
Service was great. On booking the picnic and at the venue.
Food was great. But remember it is a
Gourmet Picnic! And whilst they state on their website that it serves 2-3, I wouldn't go that far - it is juuuust enough for 2. My favourites were "Bruce’s ‘lekker’ Biltong and Brandy paté" and the "Hummus with Peppadew Coulis"
I did get fooled by "our selection of local cold meats", expecting a few different types. However, this only means they selected one type of which 4 slivers were served.
And then there is one "dish" that I struggled to understand how it fits in with a Gourmet Picnic. And that is the "Wine Gums". Not bad, but no fit.
The kiddies picnic was a perfect selection of dishes for them and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is certainly an experience that I can recommend.
